Believe in your dreams. They were given to you for a reason.” -Katrina Mayer
I love the following Native American legend about an old Cherokee that is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy. “It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.” The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?” The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”
Are you feeding your dreams or your fear? Our mind often tells us to stop dreaming; that our dreams will never come true; that it’s not worth it, or it’s too late. On the other hand, our soul whispers that we have unique gifts; that we have our own path; that we would never give up chasing our dreams. Let me remind you of something you know deep down in your soul; every dream that you have was planted in your heart because you have a purpose to fulfill. Don’t let the “wolf” of discouragement steels your dreams. Every time you are tempted to feed all the negative reasons why it won’t work, choose to support your dreams instead.
