“It is the heart that knows the path. The mind is just there to organize the steps.” -Jeff Brown
Did you know that in Spanish the word heart is literally translated as co-reason? Yes, heart in Spanish is corazón. What a beautiful way to describe where our body meets our soul. That place of inner knowing, the point of deep level discernment.
Very often, when we’re in a transitional period we ask ourselves: What can I do? What should I do? What now? There’s something that guides us where we need to be at any given time, and it’s a loving consciousness. We’re created to do the things we love. Our heart knows the path. We're created to do the things we love. Our heart knows the path. Click To Tweet
A great way to stay in touch with your heart and move beyond the fuss of uncertainty is practicing awareness combined with the power of breathing. This method allows a greater connection with your higher loving self.
Here I share two techniques for you to use the one that resonates the most with you or better yet, to practice both of them in different moments:
The first practice is from the authors of the book Heart Intelligence, Connecting with the Intuitive Guidance of the Heart.
They call this method the Heart Lock-In Technique. The process they outlined in the book is the following:
Focus your attention on the area of the heart. Imagine your breath is flowing in and out of your heart or chest area, breathing a little slower and deeper than usual.
Activate and sustain a regenerative feeling such as love, appreciation, care or compassion.
Radiate that renewing feeling to yourself and others.
The second process is from Dr. Michael Reed and Beth Ann Henning’s book Acupressure for Emotional Healing.
An excerpt from this book reads as follows: “Your ability to open to love is called shen, the spirit of the heart. When you have shen, your body is in balance and harmony; you are able to make wise, life-enhancing choices.”
One of the acupressure points they mention in the book is the Sea of Tranquility which is located at the center of your breastbone at the level of your heart. The process outlined in the book is the following:
With the heel of one hand press the Sea of Tranquility point.
Place your other hand on that hand for support, and breath deeply for one minute.
You may want to perform one of these simple practices on daily basis. Love energy has been described as the current of the soul. Connect with your heart, and recognize the power of your soul. Your heart is a vessel of the love you feel and through your breath, you reconnect with your life energy field.
